The lubricant protects the friction units from corrosion, and the work surfaces from intensive processes that also occur due to friction. The oil–to-air lubrication system significantly reduces lubricant consumption compared to grease. It ensures continuous lubrication with fresh oil and does not create an oil mist. The principle of operation of the oil-air system is to mix a strictly defined amount of oil, which is supplied by a progressive or single-line feeder with compressed air. Oil droplets disperse in the pipeline. The air flow delivers oil to the friction surfaces.
